Daddy Who Never Forgets
On a bright and sunny morning, Daddy was getting ready to go to work. He put on his coat and picked up his small briefcase.
From the kitchen, Mama called out cheerfully:
“Darling, please don’t forget! Omar’s football practice is at seven o’clock this evening!”
Daddy smiled confidently and said, “Of course I won’t forget, Honey! Don’t worry!”
He stepped outside feeling happy… but suddenly, a strange man appeared in front of him and said,
“Please, don’t forget Omars football practice at seven!”
Daddy froze in his place, staring at the man in surprise, and thought to himself,
“Oh my god, who is this man? And how does he know about Omars football practice?”
Daddy continued on his way to work, and on the way, he passed by the supermarket. There, the shopkeeper smiled at him and said,
“Don’t forget, sir seven o’clock!”
Daddy raised his eyebrows and said, “Strange! You know about it too?”
When Daddy arrived at the office, his manager greeted him with a big smile and said,
“Good morning! And don’t forget Omars football practice at seven!”
Daddy opened his mouth in astonishment and said, “You too, boss? What is this strange secret?”
Around midday, Daddy went to a small café near work to order a cup of coffee. As the waiter placed the cup on the table, he said,
“Sir, don’t forget seven o’clock!”
Daddy looked at the waiter and asked, “You too? How did you know?”
But the waiter just laughed and didn’t answer.
All day long, everyone Daddy met reminded him about the appointment. Even the security guard at the office door, as he opened it for Daddy, said,
“Sir, seven o’clock don’t forget!”
Daddy shook his head and thought to himself, “The whole city knows my schedule! What kind of mystery is this?”
At the end of the day, while Daddy was driving home, a traffic officer stopped him at the light and said,
“Good evening! Don’t forget your appointment at seven!”
Daddy looked at the officer and said, “What a strange day!”
When Daddy finally got home, he opened the door in astonishment. He saw his wife sitting and laughing, and Omar standing beside her with his sports bag ready.
Daddy asked,
“Honey, what’s going on? Why does everyone know about Omar’s practice time?”
mama laughed and held up her phone, saying,
“Because you always forget your appointments, Daddy, I decided to help you in my own way! I wrote a post on our town’s Facebook page:
‘If anyone meets my husband today, please remind him that our son’s soccer practice is at seven!’
Even the neighbors and shopkeepers joined in!”
Daddy laughed so hard that tears filled his eyes and said,
“Oh, Honey, you’re so clever! From now on, I’ll never forget another appointment again!”
Omar ran and hugged Daddy, saying,
“Daddy, you’re the best! Come on, let’s go to practice!”
And from that day on, Daddy never forgot a single appointment
and the whole town smiled whenever they saw him!
